Currently, we have several projects regarding modelling aetiology of HCC using adult human liver derived organoids. We focus on two aetiologies: Viral infection( Hepatitis B virus) and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). In general, we aim to identify molecular mechanisms underlying HCC development associated with different etiologies, facilitate the identification of early biomarkers, and potentially reveal novel therapeutic targets.
